About the Cause

Justice Luz Elena Chapa was elected in 2012 to serve on the Fourth Court of Appeals. She has authored nearly 650 opinions while maintaining an efficient docket and upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Justice Chapa has kept her promises to follow the law as written, not legislate from the bench, and keep partisan politics our of her decisions. She serves on several non-profit boards and received her BA and JD from St. Mary's University. She and her husband of 15 years have 3 children.
